Our institute was established on February 20, 1983 in accordance with the law numbered 2547. In the beginning, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, Electrical Education, Mechanical Education, Metallurgical Education, Construction Education, Fisheries Basic Sciences, Aquaculture, Our Institute, which has 18 departments, namely Fisheries Fishing and Processing Technology, Biotechnology and Architecture, continued its educational activities until 1995. It has continued its development since 1995 and respectively;

Our institute still continues its education in 37 departments, 33 of which are active. Within the body of our institute, only master's programs in 12 departments, master's and doctorate programs in 25 departments are open, and as of the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, a total of 1670 students, 1185 graduate and 485 doctoral program students, continue their education. The number of personnel working within the Institute is 11.
